I Love Making Lesson Plans (It sucks!)
“I love making lesson plans!” that’s what I’ve always heard from my teacher. Worst of all she said, “You make your own lesson plan.”
How I hate making lesson plans. It sucks! But I don’t have a choice, our teacher is looking at it. she’s thinking that all of us are eager to make it so. But the reality is WE hate it!!! Anyway, I will just try my best to do what she(teacher) wants us to do, coz she’s still my very understanding, approachable teacher! (how irony). And for the record, it will be submitted this Friday, it really sucks! I already prepared my ice bag, and some medicines if in case of emergencies.
(LAY TOLGANAY!!!).
Ok, Why I hate making lesson plans, first of all it takes more than an hour for me to think what are the objectives of my lesson; second, our teacher wants a detailed one; third, she wants us to demonstrate the lessons that we have in a class…
How pathetic! Can somebody help me? Can somebody give me tips on how to set objectives on your own lesson plan? I‘m tired of making it, objectives, objectives, objectives, objectives, objectives!!! WWHHHHHAAAAAAAAHHHHH! I think I’m insane! At this moment I’m still on objectives! HAHAHAHAHA, this is what I copied from a site. I revise some words, actually it’s about physics, but I tend to change some words. Here is it…
Physical Education Lesson Plan
Semi-Detailed Lesson Plan
I. Objectives
1.)Trace the beginning of the development of the fundamentals of P.E.
2.)Recognize the front liners in the development of the fundamentals of P.E.
3.)State the basic movements in Yoga exercise
II. Subject Matter
Lesson Title: Fundamentals of P.E. Development
Reference:
36-38
Materials: Information Strips, Chalk/Whiteboard Pen
III. Learning Activities
Prayer
Checking of Attendance
Motivation
The Teacher introduces the lesson and later asks the students to stand for an energizer.
The teacher then proceeds to the discussion of the new topic.
Lesson Proper
The teacher will discuss the ideas of the early philosophers of P.E.
Democritus is a Greek Philosopher who proposed Law of readiness which means that all
individual is a potential learners.
Aristotle did not accept the idea of Democritus because he believed that P.E. could be
divided in to many parts.
But the theories of these ancient Greeks were just based on abstract thought not through
scientific experiments.
Upon knowing the ideas of the early Greeks, the teacher is going to recognize the scientists
who believed in yoga exercise. which is an art of refinement.
After 2000 years, the idea of an P.E. began to be operational.
The works of Edward Thorndike and Joseph Proust showed support to P.E.
In 1803, William Morgan concluded that the properties of P.E. could be explained in terms of
activities. He then established the Physical Fitness Theory.
The Teacher will State the assumptions of Morgan’s Physical Fitness Theory and tells that
students to take down notes.
Physical Fitness. is composed of many aspects:
Cardiovascular endurance is the ability of the heart and lungs to work together to provide the needed oxygen and fuel to the body during sustained workloads. Examples would be jogging, cycling and swimming. The Cooper Run is used most often to test cardiovascular endurance.
Muscular strength is the amount of force a muscle can produce. Examples would be the bench press, leg press or bicep curl. The push up test is most often used to test muscular strength.
Muscular endurance is the ability of the muscles to perform continuous without fatiguing. Examples would be cycling, step machines and elliptical machines. The sit up test is most often used to test muscular endurance.
Flexibility is the ability of each joint to move through the available range of motion for a specific joint. Examples would be stretching individual muscles or the ability to perform certain functional movements such as the lunge. The sit and reach test is most often used to test flexibility.
Body composition is the amount of fat mass compared to lean muscle mass, bone and organs. This can be measured using underwater weighing, Skin fold readings, and bioelectrical impedance. Underwater weighing is considered the “gold standard” for body fat measurement, however because of the size and expense of the equipment needed very few places are set up to do this kind of measurement.
Generalization
Physical Education is the basic fundamental activity for health and exercise.
IV. Evaluation
To test whether the students listened to the discussion, the teacher is going to give them a
short quiz.
In a ¼ sheet of yellow paper, answer the following:
What is P.E.?
The person who established the Physical Fitness theory.
In your own words, define P.E.
Give the aspects of Physical Fitness.
V. Assignment
The students must read about the Yoga exercise and demonstrate it to the class.
